Meet the mods!

Lexi - Art Mod
I'm Lexi - a game artist who loves cartoons, characters, and creature design. 🦖 I make games on the side as a co-founder of IconicArts, a remote indie studio. I do 2D/3D art + animation, UI, level design, etc. I also have an extreme obsession with the color purple. 💜I got into MW around late November and it's stuck ever since. Seeing all the out of context fanart on Twitter got me to play it :)Why do you like Curlya?
Curlya has touched my heart because I see so much of myself within the two characters that it makes me sick. Two abuse victims finding peace with one another is just so beautiful and powerful to me.

Peu - Head and Graphics Mod
Hey there, I am Peu! I am a graphic designer by day, and artist by very late night. I am also currently specializing in web development.I didn't expect Mouthwashing to get me this hooked at first, and honestly, it didn't. For some reason, the obsession took over one month after I had played the game, but I am glad it did. It's been such a breath of fresh air to me, artistically speaking :)Why do you like Curlya?
My love for this ship was gradual, starting with me not understanding why it was a thing at all, then followed by a long denial phase. But hey, this just means my love for Curlya is very real! I love how doomed they are, and how they are a tragic amalgamation of if onlys.

Cody - Socials Mod
Hi! My name is Cody. I’m 29, and I’ve been drawing for my entire life. I also write, and I can sing. I started off in the Reddit MW fandom (yikes), then eventually made the 99.9% Discord server, where I’ve met so many wonderful friends. The game has completely changed my life, turning me from a directionless loser to someone bursting with creativity who’s busy with eight million different projects, and for that I’ll be forever grateful. It seems that when you see yourself fully in a character that feels stuck in his career with no motivation, it can light a fire under your ass.Why do you like Curlya?
I honestly don’t remember how I got into Curlya. But there’s something about the caring nurse meeting the despondent captain that draws me in. Their flirty banter in game kills me so bad, it’s so easy to write them playing off of each other in my fics. I just think that if he opened up to her, they would’ve made such a beautiful pairing. Therefore, I cope with the tragedy by making endless AUs where nothing bad happens.

Saturno - Writing Mod
Hi! You can call me Saturno. I’m 24 and stories have always been important to me. I’ve been reading and writing since I was a little girl, and I’m currently studying literature in college. Art is what keeps the soul alive, and I love exploring how many corners of the human mind I can reach, whether it be through books, zines, scripts, or anything under the sun.Why do you like Curlya?
I love Curlya because I’m a masochist who enjoys ships that are doomed by the narrative just as much as sweet ships. Whether in a world with a better ending, or the canonical universe, Curlya can fulfill either one.

FAQ
1. What is a zine?
A zine is like a book that’s centered around a specific theme, which in this case is Curlya. Various artists, writers, and other sorts of creators collaborate to create the content for the pages, and the graphics moderator does background work to gather it all together in an artful way, much like a magazine.⮞ If you wish to know more information about zines, feel free to check out this Carrd made by @atozines: https://zinebaby.carrd.co/2. More information about this zine
This is a zine that centers around the platonic or romantic relationship between Curly and Anya. We’re looking for artists, writers, merch artists, and any kind of alternative type of contributor. Here you can take a look at what is expected for each category:⮞ Artists: for contributors who will work on page art, which includes single page and spreads, as well as short comics.⮞ Writers: for contributors who will work on a piece of writing for the zine.⮞ Merch Artists: for contributors who will work on creating merch for the zine. All applicants must be 16 or older.5. How many contributors will this zine have?
This zine aims to take on around 40 artists (guests included), 7 merch artists, 10 writers and 10 alternative contributors.6. Will contributors be compensated in some way?

Of course! As long as the focus is on Curlya, include whoever you’d like.8. Are AUs allowed? Which AUs aren't allowed?
When it comes to canon vs AUs, we’re looking for more canon content rather than AU, although AUs are totally allowed. Think of a 60:40 ratio of canon/canon-divergent material vs AU.
The type of AUs that are not allowed are anything sexual/NSFW, dead dove, or excessively gorey. Due to the nature of the game, disturbing content is permitted, as long as it doesn’t go too far.9. Is NSFW allowed?
SFW only, please. Depending on the reception and interest, we might do an NSFW one in the future.10. Are contributors allowed to post their work to their own socials?
Yes, once the zine is completed, contributors will be able to post their work. However, while the project is still ongoing, we ask contributors to not share any WIPs publicly. In addition, when the time comes, contributors will be asked to post a preview/sneak peek to their socials using the template the team will provide.
